Immersif et électrisant, IN THE BRAIN nous invite à perdre nos repères dans un tourbillon de rythme et de mouvement, fusionnant rave et rituel pour une expérience collective unique.

Hofesh Shechter revient à l’EMC avec sa nouvelle création, une plongée viscérale au cœur du mouvement, du rythme et de l’énergie collective. Pensé comme une traversée des profondeurs de la conscience, où récits et identités se dissolvent au profit du beat, ce spectacle transforme la scène en espace de libération, entre transe euphorique et pulsions.

Les interprètes incarnent une énergie brute et inarrêtable qui efface la frontière entre plateau et public, invitant chacune et chacun à se laisser emporter. Développé à partir de CAVE, une oeuvre antérieure explorant la nuit et les rassemblements humains, IN THE BRAIN célèbre la danse comme langage universel de connexion, d’appartenance et de transcendance sensorielle.

IN THE BRAIN is produced by Hofesh Shechter Company.
Commissioned by Agora, Cité Internationale de la Danse, Montpellier. Co-commissioned by Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps, Château Rouge, scène conventionnée – Annemasse, Espace 1789, scène conventionnée danse – Saint-Ouen, Scène nationale de Bourg-en-Bresse, Düsseldorf Festival !, with production support from Théâtre de la Ville Paris.
IN THE BRAIN is based on an original work called CAVE, produced by Martha Graham Company, Studio Simkin and Sharing Space, which premiered at City Center Dance Festival, New York City, on 6 April 2022.
Hofesh Shechter Company gratefully receives support towards the delivery of Shechter II 2026. This includes core funding from The Harold Hyam Wingate Foundation and the Abderrahim Crickmay Charitable Settlement, and project funding from Jerwood Foundation towards Jerwood x SII – a Continued Professional Development (CPD) offer to the dancers and from Cockayne Grants for the Arts, a Donor Advised Fund, held at The Prism Charitable Trust towards the creation and London premiere of IN THE BRAIN.
